Founded in 2024, we have clear objectives.
Mission, Purpose, Vision, and Values
Mission:
The North American Pronghorn Foundation enhances pronghorn populations and habitats through advocacy, stewardship, stakeholder partnerships, and our hunting heritage.
Purpose:
The North American Pronghorn Foundation(NAPF) will enable the pronghorn to occupy as much of its historic range as feasible. We will preserve, enhance, and where possible, recover the sagebrush steppe ecosystem on which pronghorn and other species rely.
The NAPF will advocate for the scientific management of pronghorn and the sagebrush steppe ecosystem and actively support wildlife science to enhance our understanding of this uniquely American animal and ecosystem.
The NAPF will work in partnership with on-the-ground stakeholders including Native American tribes, energy producers, farmers and ranchers, state wildlife agencies, and the public to ensure enduring policies and practices.
The NAPF will educate about our hunting heritage and advocate respect for the role it has played over millennia in the presence of pronghorn on our plains. We will work to ensure hunting culture’s continued role in the North American model of wildlife conservation.
Vision:
The North American Pronghorn Foundation will be the premier advocate for pronghorn and the sagebrush steppe ecosystem and will act with high degrees of trust and transparency for its members, its partners, and the people of North America.
Values:
Honesty
Transparency
Stewardship
Partnership
Mutual respect
